The 2nd (out of 6) Training events for stuff members of the Erasmus + project ‘Knights for Road safety’ was successfully implemented in Barcelona, 17-19.09.2019. The training event was organized by CECE (Spanish Confederation of Education & Training centers) and was hosted at Escola Sant Josep, in Terrassa. At the event participated: Road Safety Institute (RSI) Panos Mylonas, Motor Transport Institute (Poland), CECE (Spanish Confederation of Education &Training centers), BundesGymnasium und BundesRealGymnasium Schwechat (Austria), Trinity College Dublin-The University of Dublin (TCD), Omega Technology (Greece) and EA (Greece).
A number of workshops and presentations on road safety issues took place during the 3 day training. The first day the whole school approach on road safety education in Spain and the open schooling concept were presented. A visit of Aprovita Association at Escola Sant Josep presented an educational workshop about first aids on road safety issues. KROS training activities material was presented and evaluated on the topics of ‘Seat Belt Use’, ‘Passenger Safety’ and ‘Emotions in traffic’. On the 2nd day the KROS team visited the Municipality Police, department of Road Safety Education. Traffic Police officers presented their activities on Road Safety in Terrassa. The 2nd day closed with the demonstration of the KROS VR activities by OMEGA.
The training on Thursday included the presentation of Trinity’s College Dublin “Sustainable and Active Travel” activity and Motor Transport Institute activity for “Drink Driving”. The training ended with the evaluation of the Training in Barcelona.
The training was very successful and participating organizations had the chance to enrich their knowledge on road safety educational issues for young people with the use of advanced technology. The 3rd KROS training activity will take place in Austria (1-3/10) , completing the Phase 1 of the KROS training activities.
